THE HOST AGENCY · A FEW THINGS WORTH KNOWING
Your business.
Your questions.
A real side business deserves real answers. Fees, commissions, personal bookings, and the support behind your own brand.
The fit
What is a travel host agency?
A host agency supports independent travel businesses with access to booking relationships, systems, and guidance. Jess.Travel is a boutique host for people building their own travel-planning brands. Joining the host agency is different from hiring Jess.Travel to plan a vacation.
Who is the Jess.Travel host agency for?
People starting a travel business alongside another career, especially the friend everyone already asks to organize the trip. Our community includes side hustlers and people who initially focus on their own travel. It suits self-directed learners who want support while developing their own business.
Can I do this alongside my current career?
Yes. The host model is designed to let you build at your own pace rather than follow a fixed work schedule. Accept client work you have time to deliver. Side hustle does not mean clients stop needing attention when your day job gets busy.
Do I need previous travel-agent experience?
You do not need to arrive with an established agency. Jess.Travel offers self-paced learning and support for getting started. You do need to be willing to learn booking processes, communicate clearly, and take responsibility for your clients and business.
Am I an employee of Jess.Travel?
No. Hosted planners run independent businesses and develop their own client relationships. This is not a salaried job offer or a promise that joining produces income. Discuss the contractor agreement before deciding to join.
How is Jess.Travel different from a large corporate host agency?
Jess.Travel is a boutique host built around your independent brand. You receive direct planning support from Jess, marketing guidance from Joe, self-paced education, tools, booking access, and community without sales quotas, mandatory webinars, monthly host fees, or a corporate atmosphere.
Do I need travel credentials before joining?
No. Jess.Travel can help you get started without first acquiring your own industry credentials or joining separate groups. You operate through the host relationship while learning the systems and supplier processes required for your business.
Fees & commissions
How much does joining cost?
Joining costs $399 as a one-time fee, with no monthly fees.
How do host-agency commissions work?
Eligible suppliers pay commission on qualifying bookings. That commission is shared between the independent planner and the host under the applicable agreement. Jess.Travel advertises an advisor share of up to 90%, depending on the applicable tier. That is a share of commission, not 90% of the trip's selling price.
What commission split will I start on?
The standard split starts at 50/50 for the first $1,500 in gross commissions, moves to 80/20 through $5,000, and reaches 90/10 after that. Planners who reach the 80/20 tier for two consecutive years begin future years at 80/20. Some supplier-specific arrangements may differ.
Can I earn commission on my own travel?
Yes, eligible personal travel bookings can earn commission through the host. A booking must qualify under the supplier's rules and the host agreement. Not every rate or booking is commissionable, and this is not a promise of free vacations.
When will I get paid?
Jess distributes commissions to independent contractors monthly.
Are travel-agent discounts guaranteed?
No blanket discount should be assumed. Eligibility, availability, and conditions vary by supplier and program. Commission on an eligible booking and access to an advisor rate are separate things; ask about the exact opportunity you intend to use.
Can I charge my own planning fees?
Yes. You set your own planning fee. It does not have to match what Jess charges. Choose a flat fee, an hourly rate, or another fee structure that fits your services and your business.
Is the $399 host-agency fee really one time?
Yes. The You Be You plan costs $399 once, with no monthly or annual host-agency fees. Your own business expenses and optional services remain separate.
What does up to 90% commission mean?
It means your share of eligible supplier commission can reach 90% under the commission tiers. It does not mean 90% of the customer's trip price, and it does not mean every booking is commissionable.
Can I earn commission from both client trips and my own trips?
Yes. Eligible client bookings and eligible personal travel bookings can earn supplier commission through the host agency. Supplier rules determine whether a particular rate or booking qualifies.
Support & independence
What support and tools are included?
The published plan includes planning guidance from Jess, marketing guidance from Joe, a profile website, access to planning and client-management software, supplier booking access, educational resources, and a private community. Review the plan for current inclusions and optional extras.
What is JessUniversity?
JessUniversity is the host agency's self-paced collection of educational articles and videos. Topics include business setup, planning workflows, branding, websites, and marketing. It is a resource for learning as you build, rather than a required calendar of live webinars.
Do I keep my own brand and clients?
Yes. The model is built around your independent brand and your own client relationships. Jess.Travel provides host support. Review the agreement for the specific responsibilities and terms attached to that relationship.
Are there sales quotas or mandatory webinars?
Jess.Travel's published host offer has no sales quotas or mandatory webinars. You can learn at your own pace and decide how much business to take on. Your responsibilities to clients and suppliers still matter.
Is this an MLM or a recruiting opportunity?
Jess.Travel describes its host agency as no MLM. The offer is support for a travel business: planning services and eligible bookings. The purpose is to serve travelers, not to make recruiting other members your business model.
Will Jess.Travel find all my clients?
You should build your own audience and client relationships. Jess.Travel provides marketing guidance, and the published plan includes customer leads through Travel Leaders Network, but it does not promise a guaranteed volume of clients or income.
Will I get direct access to Jess and Joe?
Yes. The published plan includes direct planning support from Jess and marketing support from Joe. The goal is practical help from the people running the agency, alongside the self-paced resources and private community.
What technology do hosted planners receive?
The plan includes access to client-management and custom itinerary software, supplier booking sites for commissionable bookings, and a personal agent profile website. JessUniversity also includes resources for business setup, websites, branding, planning, and marketing.
Does Jess.Travel create a website for me?
The current plan includes a personal agent profile website. You still build and promote your own brand; the profile gives you a hosted web presence within the Jess.Travel system.
Will I receive a travel-agent ID card?
Yes. The current plan includes a Jess.Travel travel-agent photo ID badge. Supplier discounts or advisor rates still depend on each supplier's eligibility rules, availability, and terms.
Does Jess.Travel provide leads?
The published plan includes customer leads through the Travel Leaders Network consortium. You should also expect to build your own audience and client base; no particular lead volume, booking volume, or income is guaranteed.
Getting started
Is the $399 fee my entire business budget?
The $399 is the one-time host-agency fee, with no monthly or annual host fees. The plan includes the listed support, profile website, planning software access, booking access, JessUniversity, and community. Your own business expenses and optional services, such as the $99 one-hour consultation with Jess and Joe, are separate.
Can I join from outside the United States?
International eligibility and local requirements depend on where you live and operate. Submit the host-agency inquiry before paying so Jess.Travel can assess your location. Host affiliation does not replace licenses, registrations, or consumer-protection requirements that may apply locally.
What should I ask before choosing any host agency?
Ask about the joining and recurring fees, actual starting commission split, payout timing, personal-booking rules, supplier access, support, and the agreement's exit terms. Compare what you will realistically use. The most impressive headline percentage is only one piece of the decision.
How do I join the Jess.Travel host agency?
Complete the free host-agency inquiry at Jess.Travel/free-inquiry-Jess-host-agency. We will discuss your goals and questions, then you can review the current plan and agreement before joining.
Is training live or self-paced?
JessUniversity is self-paced, with instructional articles and videos covering planning, business setup, accounting, insurance, websites, branding, and marketing. There are no mandatory webinars. A separate one-hour consultation with Jess and Joe is available for $99 after joining.
Can I work from home and choose my own schedule?
Yes. The offer is designed for an at-home side hustle or a full-time independent travel business. You choose your schedule and how quickly to build, while remaining responsible for the clients and bookings you accept.
